Imperial armaments are magical items used by Azure Battalion soldiers. Stocks of each could be found at the Callibell Chantry's armory.[1]
Complete item stat blocks for the Imperial war staff, bracers, and rings were released after episode 8 of The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One, and are available exclusively on Patreon for patrons of Worlds Beyond Number and The Griffon's Saddlebag.[2]
War staff
Also called a war stave, war staffs are Imperial weaponry made for Azure Battalion soldiers. While they can be used by martial means, they are mostly used to assist in the user's spellcasting ability. The staff is banded in brass, with a leather strap that allows for ease of carrying.
Within the Empire, the staves are colloquially referred to as "matchsticks", in reference to the soot that covers the end of each staff. This soot boosts the powers of low level cantrips, the most frequently used being Fire Bolt.[3]
Bracers
Golden, hardened leather bracers that fit snugly on a user's forearms. They are light to accommodate for spellcasting, and have a minor abjuration cantrip imbued into them. It is one of the few items located within the Callibel Chantry Armory that has no crest signifying its usage by the Azure Battalion.[4]
Magical rings are mass-produced by The Citadel, and used beyond the Azure Battallion across the Empire. They are able to magically resize to the wearer, though it is common knowledge that only two can be safely worn at a given time. The rings held in the Armory are for non-combat purposes, used to boost the innate abilities of the wearer.[5]
Sailor's Ring
Created with the coral grown by the Callibell Nautomantic Apparatus, farmed from Naram the Wave Lord's body.[citation needed]
- The wearer has the ability to breathe underwater[6]
After Eursulon's attunement with a Sailor's Ring, his fur quality became similar to that of a polar bear or otter's, becoming slick and waterproof.[7]
Scout's Ring
A copper ring. Grants the wearer with increased perceptiveness and attentiveness.
- Both perception and initiative are rolled with advantage.[8]
Putting on a Scout's Ring for the first time can induce severe sensory overload, as the wearer will immediately become more visually and audibly aware, as well as notably more focused.[9]
Steward's Ring
A bronze ring, used mostly by port workers transporting goods.[10]
- The base strength score of the wearer increases to 19.[11]
Putting on a Steward's Ring for the first time can induce nausea and feverish sweating.[12] After attunement, the wearer obtains noticeably defined muscles if they did not have them before.[11]
